The World’s 50
Best Hotels Extended List

The World’s 50 Best Hotels has published its extended list. Fifty more hotels, ranked 51 to 100.

Beyond the
headline.

51–100Ranked hotels
23Territories
40Cities
10Independent hotels

Fifty hotels, ranked from 51 to 100, span 23 territories and 40 cities. Two hotels are making their debut on a 50 Best hotels list: Ritz Paris at No. 72 and Carlton Cannes at No. 80. Ten of the fifty are independent, with no hotel group behind them. Asia claims the largest share of places, led by Japan, while Europe follows, led by Italy.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels is part of a wider family. Restaurants came first in 2002, followed by Bars in 2009 and Hotels in 2023. There is no online voting. The academy comprises more than 800 anonymous hoteliers, journalists and experienced luxury travellers. Each voter must have stayed at the hotel within the previous three years to vote for it.

The extended list was introduced last year and returns for a second edition. The full top 50 will be revealed live from Paris on 15 September.
